How do I pay for my care at Woodridge? We accept Medicare, Medicaid, Private Insurance, and Private Pay. Our Director of Admissions is ready to help you with this sort of question.
If you qualify for Medicare by being admitted into a hospital for minimum of 3 midnights, we will look up the number of days the patient has available. Then, if the patient is able to work with our therapist and continue to benefit from therapy we can bill them for therapy for up to 100 days. Medicare pays for the patient room, all of the medicine prescribed, therapy prescribed, and any treatments needed. Medicare pays for everything during the first 20 days all by themselves. If you have co-insurance, together they may pay for up to 100 days. If there is no co-insurance, you can still continue to use your Medicare benefits by paying the co-pay fee of $124.00 a day as long as the patient is continually improving. Medicare has very strict rules that we must adhere to. If a patient is not making progress, we cannot continue to bill for their services.
If you already have Medicaid in the community and can meet both medical & financial necessity, Medicaid may pay for your room, meals, treatments and medicine. They have strict rules on who might qualify for therapy and we must get prior approval, so therapy is on an individual need basis. If you have never had Medicaid, we have the applications here in our admissions office to assist you.
When you admit into our facility we are here to assist you in getting stronger and when our able to go home, we are both winners! There is no certain length of stay necessary except in the situation of needing to qualify for Medicaid. (If you want to be approved for Medicaid, you must be in a nursing facility a minimum of 30 days before the state will process the application.) Other than that, you are only here as long as you and your physician think you should be here receiving our services to assist you with your health. We love our residents… but we know they want to get strong enough to go home.
What if I don’t have a doctor? We have a list of wonderful physicians that are still accepting new patients that we can share with you. Many of them make ‘house calls’ to our building so you don’t have to sit in a waiting room anymore! Please ask in our admissions office for the physicians phone list.
Do I still pay the same co-pay amount for my doctor visits? Your physician is billed through Medicare part B… if you have that benefit on your policy… or Medicaid if you have them for your insurance carrier… or we can bill whatever insurance you carry. We are here with highly qualified staff to assist you with your insurance questions.
Yes, we do have some private rooms, but most insurance companies will not pay for a patient to have a room all to themselves. Insurance typically pays for a semi-private room. If you would like to see our private rooms, we would be happy to assist you on a private pay basis and encourage you to come in for a tour of our building.
Staff is here everyday of the week and we want to be available when you need us. Most of our staff is ready and able to give you a tour, but it is better to make an appointment so we can plan our day around giving you as much time as you need to focus on your tour and questions.
